WHEN SOMEONE ASKS ME FOR MY “EXPERT OPINION” ON A SOCIAL INITIATIVE.
The Rabbit Feed on Instagram - 2.0
(Dirk Rabbit writes) Yesterday afternoon (UK time) Instagram for Android finally saw the light of day. The result? Three million new sign-ups over night.
On Monday when checking the latest Instagram numbers for a presentation I counted 28.7 million odd. Today at Noon (London time), the total stood at 32 million - 32,104,009 to be precise
What does this mean for Instagram, will this trajectory continue? Yes and no:

February 29 will be remembered as more than just a leap year in 2012, it was also the day Facebook switched on Timeline for brands.
Following the trickled success of Timeline for personal profiles, Facebook has given page admins the option to upgrade their page to embrace Timeline and give their brand a fuller profile on Facebook.
Congratulations to the bmibaby team for picking up the innovation in travel and leisure award from econsultancy last night!
This is the result of the on-going myeurope Instagram campaign, which has seen 25,000+ pieces of user generated content being uploaded. This is a phenomenal response rate for an online campaign, especially for one where users actively have to participate by creating, uploading and tagging an image.

This week I celebrated my Rabbit birthday and it has prompted me to take the time to reflect on the past year working for such a great company. But really its not about the company, but the people - a mix of talented, energetic and passionate people who work harder than hard to achieve great work. There is also a brilliant team spirit; we laugh, shout and debate together, drink coffee and beer (cocktails) and Tweet at one another across the room.
I wanted to share a little about the inspiring people I work with, because my day is that much brighter because of them.
The A-Z of Rabbits
In Zoë and Jim I have seen careers blossom and flourish over the past twelve months. Each talented individuals they add their unique flavour to the agency mix. Zoë’s calm composure has guided us through choppy waters and Jim’s energy, wit and linguistic talents have kept our sides splitting (see Manateem). Our longest-serving AMs, they’re the heart and soul of Rabbit - I can’t wait to see what’s next for them.
Alex, our silent assassin has produced some of our greatest creative work and allowed us to embrace social design whilst enjoying his insanely awesome t-shirt collection. It is he that we thank for our Desk Rabbits.
Caroline and Kenndy joined the Rabbit team in summer of 2011 and are both integral parts of the agency. Ken’s boundless talents - whether as an incredible photographer, Apple geek or charmer have enriched our work and allowed us to branch into new areas again and again - thanks for sticking with us K. And Caroline’s 300 wpm typing skills have meant our productivity soars when she’s around!
Sophie is one of our most significant hires and joined us not a moment too soon - she’s a joy to work with (and sit opposite). Truly professional on every level, she has the most infectious laugh and puts my coffee addiction to shame with her cookie and coke habits.
Sinead and Lea are two of our brightest stars - full of enthusiasm and ideas. Sinead is one of the most inspiring young people I know - good luck with that thesis Sinead! And Lea, our most recent recruit, is one of the most talented and ingenious young women in our industry, check out The High Tea Cast to learn more.
And finally, I have made two of my closest and greatest friends - Bridey and Dirk - and in them I have found a real sense of understanding and common objectives. We compliment each other in so many ways - combining together to create one genius mind! I am constantly inspired by them both. Bridey’s talents well exceed her years and she is a brilliant, brilliant Rabbit partner in crime. Dirk’s skills are too many to mention in one tiny blog, but his guidance, foresight and knowledge allows me to grow and learn every day. I am so grateful to them both for inviting me to join their baby and shape the future of Rabbit. The past year has been a blast you guys, I love you all, here’s to 2012.
Next week is Social Media Week across the globe from Hong Kong to Washington DC. Hundreds of events are taking place here in London and we’re incredibly proud to announce that we’ll be hosting an event here in the warren.
Hosted by friend of Rabbit, Hassan Mirza, the event will look at…
